Re: Big Basin Water Company, AL 83 -W 2023 General Rate Case
Dear Big Basin Water Company and California Public Utilities Commission,
I am writing to reject the proposed water rate increase of 55.59% requested by Big Basin Water Company in Advice Letter 83-W dated December 20, 2022, and described in the Notice of Proposed Rate Increase letter mailed to customers on March 18.
As a customer of Big Basin Water Company, I understand additional funds are needed to continue operating the water system. However, I disagree with the amount of the increase: instead of the 55.59% Big Basin Water is requesting, I think the rate they should be granted is __ %.
I hope that the CPUC will carefully evaluate this proposal and make a decision that is in the best interests of the community.
Sincerely,

Re: Big Basin Water Company, AL 83 -W 2023 General Rate Case
Dear Big Basin Water Company and California Public Utilities Commission,
I am writing to protest the proposed water rate increase of 55.59% requested by Big Basin Water Company in Advice Letter 83-W dated December 20, 2022, and described in the Notice of Proposed Rate Increase letter mailed to customers on March 18.
As a customer of Big Basin Water Company, I appreciate the need for additional funds. However, it is unfair to expect customers to bear the financial burden of this increase when we have no control over the decision-making process regarding how this money will be spent. There is great concern among customers regarding the repairs that need to be made to the system to ensure a safe and consistent supply of water.
Until a clear written plan of how these funds will be allocated is available for inspection by customers, I cannot in good conscience agree to the rate increase.
I hope that the CPUC will carefully evaluate the company's proposal and make a decision that is in the best interests of the community.
Sincerely,

Re: Big Basin Water Company, AL 83 -W 2023 General Rate Case
Dear Big Basin Water Company and California Public Utilities Commission,
I am writing to provide conditional support of the proposed water rate increase of 55.59% requested by Big Basin Water Company in Advice Letter 83-W dated December 20, 2022, and described in the Notice of Proposed Rate Increase letter mailed to customers on March 18, 2023.
As a customer of Big Basin Water Company (BBW), I understand additional funds are needed to continue operating the water system. I support a rate increase if there is a plan for using these funds for operational and infrastructure repair costs (excluding paying off fines).
I also understand that BBW has a signed purchase agreement with a private company and that the CPUC will verify that the transfer of ownership is in the public interest. I am concerned that a private company will have the same issues with receiving FEMA assistance and low cost loans for infrastructure repairs. I firmly believe public ownership is the best path going forward.
I hope that the CPUC will carefully evaluate this proposal and the signed purchase agreement and make a decision that is in the best interests of the community.
Sincerely,
