Hi Neighbors: On Wednesday night Julie Weust set up a Zoom meeting for neighbors in the BBW group who received the email from the county regarding the permits. The group was in the Fallen Leaf- Fern Rock area. We were able to meet each other and discuss some history and possible ideas for creating a unified voice to creating a way to ask those involved with BBW challenges to be accountable. We concluded with perhaps discussing ideas to get the word out of the perils with BBW and the other parties responsible for lack of oversight.
That included perhaps sending several types of correspondence and social media notices to different media orgs. Please weigh in on other ideas and how we can start this process.
There was also a consensus on a letter writing campaign to various groups to get the word out.
Here is a link to a google drive folder to upload any shared docs that could help us in getting the word out—sample letters and press release material would be welcome.
The the owners of this website if this is inappropriate in any way -my apologies and feel free to delete it.
Looking forward to us creating a strong voice and momentum to create broader awareness so the county will pay attention in a way the be resident focused.

Hello Ruth! Thank you for sharing. I definitely agree that a strong community voice and greater awareness are very important. You are absolutely right that we need to make sure the county and the agencies involved are focused on the community needs. To help clarify my understanding, was this discussion specific to the septic side, the water side, or both aspects of the BBWC situation? I am uncertain because you mention permits towards the beginning (which I assume is related to the current septic situation in Leaf-Fern Rock area), but the FAQ in the google drive is focused on the water side of the situation. In any event, I agree that building momentum and greater community involvement is critical for both.
